Derek Chapman

A dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner with seven years of experience under his belt, Derek holds the rank of purple belt. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and helping others grow in the art of BJJ. He takes pride in his work and strives to be an excellent instructor to both beginners and kids.

Derek has a special interest in working with kids, and his patience and understanding make him an excellent teacher for younger students. He understands the importance of building trust with his students, creating a safe and supportive learning environment where everyone can grow and develop their skills.

His enthusiasm for BJJ is contagious, and he is known for his friendly and approachable demeanor. He believes that BJJ is more than just a martial art; it's a way of life that teaches discipline, focus, and resilience. He encourages his students to embrace these values, both on and off the mat.

When he is not on the mats, Derek can be found out in nature, travelling the world, or strumming his guitar.  His dedication, hard work, and patience make him an invaluable asset to our gym, and his passion for the art is sure to inspire and motivate his students.
